Dr. Thornton is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Orthopedics & Rehabilitation at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. A graduate of Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Thornton received her medical degree from the University of Michigan and her pediatric specialty training at Children's Memorial Hospital. Her rehabilitation residency was at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, where she also served as chief resident. She has also appeared on Good Morning America and CNN, and is a well known lecturer on topics including health and wellness, holistic health care, obesity and childhood disability.
